Antique French Green Opaline Glass Jewelry Casket

This antique French Opaline glass jewelry has hand painted enamel work on brass surround. The corners of this hard-to-find antique jadite glass casket are beveled and the top and bottom lids have been polished.

Antique Opaline jewelry casket measures 4-1/2 inches tall x 5 inches long x 4-1/4 inches wide. It dates to the middle of the 19th century. It is French Opaline, jadite green in color. It’s lovely hand cut, time consuming body is in superb condition. There are no cracks or restoration to the lovely glass.

Opaline glass is a style of glass made in France from 1800 to the 1890’s. Most all Opaline glass is not branded or signed. It was most popular through the reign of Napoleon III in the 1850’s and 1860’s.
